The inauguration of the nation’s centenary anniversary celebration, took place on Monday February 4, with former president, Gen. Abdusalami Abubakar presenting the centenary theme song titled: “This Land, Celebrating 100 years of Nigeria”.
The song, which was commissioned by the office of the Secretary to the Federal Government, Anyim Pius Anyim and has been in the works for the past two months was subsequently performed by a theme of notable Nigerian musicians led by Onyeka Onwenu and including Jodie and Omawumi
At least one review says it is “hitting all the right notes. Yanni-like vibes, fantastic instrumentals, easy to memorise and sing along to, and meaningful lyrics”

The anniversary will hold on January 1, 2014.Click here to listen:

LYRICS

Here we areStanding tall

Through adversity

We are one

100 years of unity

Nigeria, we will stand

(Uh….uh….)

(One hundred)

Uh-uh-uh

Together we will make it

Strong indivisible

Uh-uh-uh-uh

One nation

To stand, to stand, to stand.
