Forbes has released its annual list of planet earth’s wealthiest people, and 14 of the world’s 1,226 billionaires reside in the Washington area.

The Washington Business Journal classified all the billionaires on the original Forbes list according to location and it was revealed that 14 of them came from the Washington area of D.C.

The list sees billionaires from 58 countries including ones from Peru, Morocco and Georgia. The U.S. is still home to more billionaires than any other nation, with 425, a dozen more than a year ago.

The list also welcomes 128 new names, such as Glencore’s Ivan Glasenberg (No. 125) and Tesla’s Elon Musk (No. 634), while

12 members from the 2011 list dropped off, including buyout titan Teddy Forstmann and Apple’s Steve Jobs, who was replaced by his wife Laurene Powell Jobs.

The Forbes list reached an all-time high of $4.6 trillion this year, with the total net worth seeing a 2 percent surge.

Success stories include Facebook czar, Mark Zuckerberg, fashion magnate Miuccia Prada and Spanx’s “newfangled girdle” mastermind Sara Blakely.

The total world GDP for all of planet earth was 63 trillion dollars.  Thus the 1,226 people on the list have a combined wealth equal to 1/6th of the entire planets GDP
