Chika Amalaha has clinched Nigeria’s first gold medal at the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, UK.
The weight lifter, who was born October 28, 1997, pulled a total of 196 points in snatch and clean and jerk in the 53kg.
She trumped other competitors like Dika Toua from Papa New Guinea and Santoshi Matsu from India, who won silver and bronze respectively.
Nigeria will be looking to grab more medals, as the competition enters its Day 3 on Saturday.
