Alison-Madueke gets court injunction stopping Reps from probing N10 billion jet scandal

Nigeria’s petroleum minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke has obtained a court injunction ordering the House of Representatives to stop an ongoing in ongoing investigation of the alleged squandering of more than  N10billion of public funds leasing private jets for two years.

The restraining order was gotten from  a federal high court in Abuja, stopping the  House, its committees or representatives from summoning Mrs. Alison-Madueke or requesting that she produce papers, documents or give evidence relating to the jet spending. Read more….

Alamieyeseigha accuses Obasanjo of shielding oil thieves

Former governor of Bayelsa State, Diepreye Solomon Alamieyeseigha on Monday criticized former president Olusegun Obasanjo, accusing him of having the list of oil thieves in Nigeria, but he protected them during his administration.

Alamieseigha also declared that 50 percent of Nigerian oil was stolen daily and  accused foreign embassies of having full knowledge of illegal purchase of crude oil from Nigeria. Read more….

APC condoles with vice president Sambo on brother’s death

The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Monday commiserated with Vice President Namadi Sambo on the death of his  younger brother, Capt. Yusuf Sambo, in a road crash in Abuja.

The condolence was expressed in a statement issued in Lagos by the party’s Interim National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed.

The statement said that the party expressed shock and sadness at the death of ”such a vibrant personality in such a tragic circumstance”. Read more….

APC hails suspension of PDP rally in Adamawa

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has hailed the reported suspension of the Peoples Democratic Party rally scheduled for Adamawa State on Tuesday, in line with the prevailing mood of the nation, especially following the abduction of over 200 school children in Borno State.

Parents cry over N1, 500 JAMB results scratch card

Some parents and guardians in Plateau have described as “very exorbitant’’, the N1, 500 they were being charged by JAMB for scratch card to access the examination result.

The parents, who spoke  in Jos, Pakshin and other towns of Plateau accused the examination body of extorting money from students and parents with all manners of charges.

“The charges are strange. Last year, we used the JAMB registration number to check the scores. We were not expecting something different this year,’’ Mr Gotong Nanman, a parent told NAN in Pankshin. Read more….
