Another bomb blast injures 3 Shari’a guards in Kano

A bomb explosion in Kano yesterday injured three paramilitary personnel.

The Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was said to have been planted by unknown persons by the wall of the Juma’at Praying ground at Kofar Mata, where the paramilitary personnel usually take shelter.

The injured officers are from Hisbah Guards, Federal Road Safety Commission and the Kano Road Traffic Department. A passer by was also reportedly affected by the blast.

The three officials were quickly rushed to the Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital.

The Kano police public relations officer, Magaji Majiya, confirmed the incident saying no life was lost in the explosion.

He assured the public that investigations are on to unearth the perpetrators of the attack.

He appealed to the public to divulge to the police any information that might assist it in carrying out its duty of effectively securing life and property in the state.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
