Armed robbers kill school principal, 2 others in Nasarawa

A school principal, Lawal Ahmed and two others were on Thursday night shot to death by armed robbers on Doma-Lafia Road, while on their way home.

The principal of the Federal Technical College, Doma, Doma Local Government Area of Nasarawa State and the two others ran into men of the underworld around 7:30pm.

The late principal was on his way back home after attending to the parents of Senior Secondary School (SSS 2) student, Jibrin Isah, who was allegedly stabbed by his colleague, Usman Shamsudeen.

It was gathered that the late principal stayed late so as to resolve the issue.

According to reports, the robbers started shooting sporadically when they sighted the victim’s car, they later opened fire on the principal’s vehicle killing three people.

The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the school’s Parents Teachers Association (PTA), Mr. Adamu Umaru Omaku, confirmed the news, saying the late principal and two other victims were shot by armed robbers.

Mr. Omaku said he was notified of the incident around 8:00p.m when the officials of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) took the corpses to a private hospital.

The state’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Ismaila Numan, an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), said investigation has commenced on the incident.
