Contrary to reports, that the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) had called off its 5-month long strike, the union is said to have stated that it will announce its final decision today.

The striking lecturers held a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting yesterday in Minna, the capital of Niger, to make final deliberations on the strike action.

The Nation reports:

Striking universities teachers will today announce their decision on whether to end the almost six months old strike.

They stated this last night after a marathon ASUU National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the at the Federal University of Technology, Minna.
