BREAKING: Rivers Commissioner, Joseph Mbu, redeployed to Abuja

The Rivers Commissioner of Police, Mbu Joseph Mbu has been reassigned. This development was announced by the Police Service Commission.

According to reports, Mbu has been redeployed to serve as a Commissioner of Police in the Federal Capital Territory.

His name was serial number 9 on the list of officers whose redeployment was approved by the commission.

He is to replaced in Rivers by Johnson Tunde Ogunsakin, who was formerly in charge of the Special Fraud Investigations Unit in Lagos.

According to Sahara Reporters:

Sahara reporters had exclusively reported on Monday that the controversial cop was slated for removal and reposting.

A statement issued by Mr. Ferdinand Ekpe in Abuja said the announcement will be with immediate effect.

The Press release read:

The Police Service Commission has approved the recommendations of the Inspector General of Police for the redeployment of thirteen (13) Commissioners of Police to various Commands nationwide.

The Chairman of the Commission, Sir Mike Mbama Okiro, equally admonished the newly redeployed officers to put in their best in their various Commands’ operations, so as to provide a secure environment for business and life to thrive.
