A 30-year-old man identified as Aliyu Ibrahim was arrested by officials of the Rivers State Police Command yesterday after he was found with explosives, detonators and cordless wires.

According to the state’s Commissioner of Police, Tunde Ogunsakin he said the suspect an indgiene of Ndo village in Agbada, Kokona local government, Nasarawa State had confessed to be a member of a kidnap syndicate based in Ogbogoro town in Obio/Akpor local government area of the state.

Ogunsakin said: “He was arrested in Ndele Town in Emohua local government area of Rivers State on March 17, 2014 at about 2:30 pm with a huge quantity of dynamite explosives with their detonators and cordless wire.

Ogunsakin said Ibrahim told the police that he bought the explosives in Port Harcourt with the aim of taking them to one Alhaji in Yobe State before he was caught.
