BUSTED: Suspected kidnappers arrested by police in Ebonyi (PICTURED)

Policemen of the Department of Criminal Investigation, Ogun State Police Command, Eleweran, Abeokuta, have arrested two suspected kidnappers in Ebonyi State.

The suspects, Kingson Sunday and August Johnson reportedly abducted siblings, Tolulope Kosoko (9) and Omodolapo Kosoko (7), pupils of Imperial International School, Molipa, Ijebu Ode on July 8.

One of the suspects, Sunday, was a friend of the family, who usually dropped and pick up the children from school, but on the day of the kidnap, he failed to return with the children and instead, abducted them and fled to Ebonyi State.

He later contacted the parents of the victims, demanding a ransom of N500,000 for their release, after which he sent the account details of the second suspect, Johnson, a teacher residing at Ohaozara in Ebonyi.

DSP Muyiwa Adejobi, the Police Public Relations Officer for the state command stated that N150,000 was deposited in the account by the police to lure them out.

He said, “The suspects were arrested while making efforts to withdraw the money with the help of the police informants placed on surveillance in Ebonyi State.

“Sunday had changed the names of the victims. He changed the name of Tolulope to Bishop, while that of Omodolapo was changed to Turey. The suspects were arrested in Ohaukwu, Ebonyi, on July 15 by police detectives from Ogun State DCI after a rigorous investigation.”

“The parents of the rescued victims are full of joy and have appreciated the effort of the police in rescuing the pupils.”
