BUSTED: Woman docked for stealing 82 pigs, 42 chickens & N2.2 million cash in Oyo

A woman in Oyo has been taken before a court in the state over allegations of theft.

Naimot Alimi, 45, was charged with the offence before a Magistrate court sitting in the Iyaganku area of Ibadan, the state capital after she was accused of stealing  82 pigs valued at N1 million.

The accused was also said to have stolen other farm animals belonging to one Babatunde Oduwole.

Vanguard reports:

The prosecutor, Inspector Adebusuyi alleged that Alimi also stole 15 turkeys, 42 chickens, one Toyota Avensis saloon car valued at N800,000 and a cash sum of N2.2 million, all property of Oduwole.

The offence was said to have been committed between August 2013 and December 19, 2013 at Alabata area of Moniya, Ibadan.

The accused person, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Olusola Adetujoye, granted the accused bail in the sum of N250, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
She adjourned the case till Jan.14, 2014.
