Christmas in Makoko: Get Talking Naija plans festive launch in the ‘slums’

by Rachel Ogbu

On December 25, a group of young people will be spending Christmas on the street with the residents of Makoko and are calling for your support.

According to Adaeze Ibekweh of Get Talking Naija , the group plan to have a Christmas festive  lunch with as many residents there as possible especially the children living in the deprived settlement popularly called the floating village.

It’s a season to put a smile on someone’s face and they are calling on kind-hearted Nigerians to give items or funds that will make that day very special even in the slums. “We will be accepting monetary donations no matter how little to make this happen.  So please feel free to give us as much as you can afford. Remember “Tis the Season”,” she said.

“We are still in the process of setting up an account but if you feel you want to be among the elite that will start our campaign with us, please feel free to contact us right away.
… And as much as we need monetary assistance, we will also want more people to get involved. So please get at us through our email: [email protected] or tweet us @ada_d_body . We will also be needing volunteers that will come out to the community with us on that day!”

More information will be put out shortly!
