The tax haven of Liechtenstein has had a change of heart. They will be returning to us, the cash that was carted to them in quite a few wheelbarrows, two decades ago.

Vicente del Bosque, yes, that old man, oversaw the most successful period in Spanish football history. He won trophies, showed he was a tactical genius, and generally made the nation feel good.

But sadly, football fans are fickle, and now, he’s a public enemy, all because of a bad game. Now, replace del Bosque, and put Big Boss, and you’ll see what I mean. Sports fans being fickle is something we can accept though, it comes with the territory. What we should not accept, is a glaring lack of continuity in economic policy.

Thus it is with a bit of trepidation that I read of the redeployments at the Black Glass House in Abuja. One of the men shifted around, yes, the suit that was in charge of operations, was, by all accounts, tailor-made for the role. And the reason given, when you consider the antecedents of the new oga at the top, are not exactly convincing. But what do I know of economic policy?

I’ve never run a bank, so let me talk about something I know a little about: film. It is no gain saying that the current withholding of the movie Half Of A Yellow Sun is about as brain dead as it comes. One wonders what exactly the censors want to remove from it. Again, I must keep pointing out that playing with an $8 million investment does us, a country looking for investors, a lot more harm than good. Bits and Bobs The tax haven of Liechtenstein has had a change of heart.

They will be returning to us, the cash that was carted to them in quite a few wheelbarrows, two decades ago. Problem though, is the timing of this change of heart. It’s coming at a time when the descendants of the wheelbarrow have been let off the proverbial hook, and for no apparent reason. Meanwhile, good news for Igbo people everywhere. That ethnic irredentist is on the run.

To avoid facing the music, he took to the potholed roads out of Yola. To force their point through, women at the Confab were ready to sway away. Moot at the end though, the issue is already national policy.
