Schneiderlin-Rodriguez Sotton

Southampton chairman Ralph Krueger, has insisted that midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin and striker Jay Rodriguez will not be sold this summer.

The two players have been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspurs. The Saints have already lost five players already ahead of the new season.

Adam Lallana, Dejan Lovren and Rickie Lambert have joined Liverpool, Luke Shaw is now a Manchester United player, while Calum Chambers completed his transfer to Arsenal on Monday.

Krueger stated that Schneiderlin and Rodriguez will not be part of the exodus from Saint Marys.

“Jay Rodriguez and Morgan Schneiderlin will be in our line-up as we move into next season,” Krueger told BBC Radio Solent. “They will not be sold.”

He however admitted meeting with Spurs officials in Toronto, but remain adamant that they never discussed about potential sales.

“We see them as a part of our core group players,” Krueger continued. “Those stories being passed around are quite simply false.

“I did meet Spurs officials in Toronto but not a word was exchanged about them.”
