From the swinging sixties to wild safari prints: A-Z of 2013’s hottest fashion trends (PHOTOS)

The spring/summer 2013 shows might be long behind us but the designs showcased on the crazy catwalks of London, New York, Paris and Milan last November are only just starting to filter down to our wardrobes. To make sure you know your mellow yellows from your must-have metallics next season FEMAIL has compiled an A-Z guide of what’s hot this coming year …

A … is for ASIAN

Think Far East when decking out next year’s wardrobe. From Kimono-inspired dresses to silk wraps made for Bangkok nights.

 B- Bombers

With the wintery weather not forecast to budge, a bomber jacket is a wardrobe staple. We love the designs from Belstaff and Moncler teamed with slim cut leather trousers.

 C- Cropped

Ladies, prepare to bare. Chanel showcased a beautiful array of cropped jackets and short shorts and Zara have been quick to follow suit so you can get leggy for less.

E- Enhanced minimalism

A brilliantly bonkers industry term for ‘less is more’ this season when it comes to make-up. Think primer, primer, primer and clever contouring as seen on the catwalk at Bora Aksu.

 F- Flower power

Moschino reminded us why flower power was so hip in the swinging sixties and spring 2013 is the perfect time for blooming. Try Cara Delevingne inspired bouffant hair (and lots of hairspray).

If Ashish’s collection was anything to go by, we are all headed for a geek chic get-up this season. Equations, quadrants and bold patterns are just a taster of what’s to come.

 R- Red alert
