Images of a toddler in China decked out in watermelon shorts have been making the rounds on the Internet, and people all over the world have been taking a moment to appreciate the cute combination.

According to Shanghaiist, the tot’s crafty father worked all day to create the fashionable fruit garb in order to keep the boy cool in the sweltering heat.

However, as China Navis pointed out, the little boy may be uncomfortable in the getup because the moist nature of the watermelon.

The pictures were first posted to Sina Weibo, China’s microblogging service similar to Twitter.

New York Magazine’s The Cut reported that children wearing watermelon is a trend that China’s Xinhua news agency first spotted back in July.
