Former Intercontinental Bank managing director, Erastus Akingbola has been refused permission to travel abroad for medical treatment.

Akingbola, who is reportedly standing trial with Bayo Dada, the general manager of Tropics Security Limited, was refused permission for failing to provide sufficient proof showing his health condition needed urgent medical attention.

Justice Adeniyi Onigbanjo has, however, relaxed Akingbola’s bail term which required him to report to the office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) weekly.

Onigbanjo ruled that he should only report there Fridays of first and third week of every month.

Akingbola is standing trial for allegedly stealing about N47.1bn.
