Illuminati symbol on Kanye West’s new Nike Air Yeezy II? Costs N98,000, most anticipated shoe in history (Pictures)

It must be good to be Kanye. He got the album (Watch the Throne), the Cannes gatecrash (for his 7-screen extravaganza of a movie with a cameo by Nigeria’s own D’Banj) and he got the girl (Kim Kardashian). Now his second limited edition collaboration with Nike is in stores for a mere $375 (N98,250). And retailers can’t keep them on the shelves.

On Wednesday, a pair of the then-unreleased shoes sold for $90,300 (N23,658,600) or enough to buy you a nice 3-bedroom flat in Lekki. The shoes were finally released on Saturday, June 9.

Only 5,000 pairs of the limited edition shoes were made, and Business Insider called the release of the shoes the most anticipated in history. Designed to look and feel reptilian, Yeezy went all out, using hieroglyphics, hand-tooled leather, and glow-in-the-dark soles.

He also seemed to be thumbing his nose at his illuminati detractors, adding an illuminati-esque symbol to the shoe tongue.

  1. 98k? No o… That will mean the dollar is 262 to the naira. Bikonu check and correct. And please don't join the Illuminati bandwagon. Hieroglyphics does not Illuminati make..
