#IntheSpiritofLove: A fist full of wind

Love is special when, she has eyes only for him.

When fond memories cause his to sparkle, and recollections of shared pastimes fill their hearts with mirth.

A touch elicits longing. An unearthed photo, vivid visions of Shangri-La.

Oh what bliss love is, when your place in their life is not a mystery,

when there’s not a shred of ambiguity as to where their loyalties lie.

That one who carries a torch for you, that sent one who wears their affections like a badge on their sleeves…

Give me the love that shares pain’s burden, not just the bounty of successes’ gain

Where the tranquility of the mundane, equals the high fevered pitches of the highest heights of ecstasy.

I’d take the quirk, the lull and the cake; I’d take ’em all! I’d take them ‘cos; together, they’re love’s bumper hamper.

Love has never been about the now without a later; or about how the how works.

where the checklist is king and his loyal subjects of prerequisites reign supreme.

Neither has it been about conditions and their preconditions.

Love is not a trophy or a mantlepiece, and if you still think love is about tangibles without the intangible;

Look around you, ‘cos love just skittered past, and what you have is a fistful of wind.

(Happy Valentines)
