It gets worse: Boko Haram kidnap the wife of Cameroon’s vice premier!

amadou_aliThe wife of Cameroonian Vice-Prime Minister, has been kidnapped by insurgents in the town of Kolofata, alongside a local religious leader, Seini Boukar Lamine (Lamido).

Insurgents, believed to be members of Boko Haram , have stepped up cross-border into Cameroon, as the West African nation with the aid of international bodies combat these militants.

Cameroon’s military commander, Issa Tchiroma, who confirmed the incident to Reuters said; “I can confirm that the home of Vice Prime Minister Amadou Ali in Kolofata came under a savage attack from Boko Haram militants.

“They unfortunately took away his wife. They also attacked the Lamido’s residence and he was also kidnapped.

“The Military commander also confirmed the death of 3 people in the attack. He said that the Vice Prime Minister who was at home to celebrate the Muslim Ramadan feast, had been moved to a safe location by security officials.

Also speaking about the attack, Second in command of Cameroon’s third inter-army region said that the situation was critical as the militants were still at Kolofata.

This is the third attack Cameroon is experiencing from Boko Haram since Friday. At least 4 were killed in previous attacks.
