Reports reaching us says the Speaker of Plateau State House of Assembly, John Dabwan, has resigned.

He was immediately replaced with Titus Alams, the member representing Bokkos State Constituency.

The Deputy Speaker of the House, Johnbull Shekarau was also impeached and replaced with Joyce Ramnap.

Both lawmakers were believed to have removed due to their  falling out of favour with Governor Jonah Jang and some stalwarts of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.

Dabwan read his resignation letter on the floor of the House saying he is doing so in a bid not to cause another round of crisis in the state.

“It is painful that I have to resign. Plateau has witnessed a lot of crises and peace has returned to the state and so I will not want to cause another round of crisis in the state,” he said.
