According to reports, the Kaduna House of Assembly Speaker, Muazu Usman Gangara, representing Giwa East and his deputy, Dr. Mato Dogara, were impeached today after surviving several attempts to remove him from office.
Their impeachment was carried out in their absence. Other principal officers who were also impeached were also not present.
Thirty-four members of the House of Assembly were present and only 19 out of 26 eligible voters endorsed the impeachment of the speaker and his deputy, Dogara Mato.
A new speaker Shehu Usman Tahir representing Giwa West Constituency was elected. While Peter Adamu representing Kagarko Constituency was elected Deputy Speaker.
