LISTEN: Dare to Question Love – Poetry by Toni Payne

by Rachel Ogbu

In this Spoken word piece titled “Dare to Question Love,” Toni Payne delivers an emotional tale of love spent and the message of  hope that lies within.

It is a must read for anybody who has ever been in love.

A line reads:

“How sweet it would have been if love was good to me

like a thief in the night, it stole my dream…

The only cure for a broken heart is time…”

  1. Nice poetry!

    Love is an orphan!
    Love is a slave!
She wonders from place to place
    Hoping forever she could stay

    She perches in our hearts
    And tries to make glad
    She whispers in our ears
To be care full as we tread

But we often get carried away
…In our lust of a fiery tale
    And soon…
    So soooon!
    She on her way again
Looking for a place to stay

    Cos our hearts… Her abode
    Have become too cold!
