Madonna booed by French fans over short performance

Madonna got the other side of the famous French hospitality after abruptly ending her show after just eight songs at the Olympia Theatre in Paris. The whole performance lasted only 45 minute.

Many fans protested the brevity of her performance and showed their displeasure by yelling “salope” — an expletive meaning “slut” or “whore.”

Others later gathered on the streets after the show and chanted, “remboursez! remboursez!” which means “give us our money back!” in French.

According to Gawker.com, the supplementary exclusive show which was only added to the singer’s itinerary last week sold out within hours of its announcement.

Many ardent Madonna fans had slept overnight on the streets close to the show venue to get the best viewing position in the 2,700 capacity hall billed to feature their favourite material girl.

The fans paid between $100 and $350 to get the exclusive tickets for the concert which was ironically meant to celebrate France’s tolerance in the wake of Madge’s controversial swastika stunt which angered far-right French politician Marine Le Pen.

Madonna’s management are yet to officially comment on the incident.

She will have her next performance in France on August 21 in Nice, maybe then she’ll have something soothing to say to her hurting fans.
