According to a Guinness World Records news release, a teenager, Rumeysa Gelgi, 17, from Safranbolu, Turkish now holds the title for the tallest female teenager.
Rumeysa, who’s a high school student stands at 7 feet tall and 0.09 of an inch.
“It’s one of my biggest dreams to be awarded with this record,” Gelgi said. “I know that only the special people can make it and I know I’m one of them now.
In addition, Gelgi’s hands measure at 9.6 inches and her feet, at 12 inches, which is close to a U.S. shoe size 15 for men.
However, doctors believe Gelgi has ‘Weaver Syndrome’, which explains her tall stature. Her rare genetic disorder causes rapid growth, but she’s not expected to get any taller. She makes use of a walker to move around because her lanky height makes it hard to keep balance.
