Opinion: Miracle – Thank God for the social networks

by Malita Wamala

We need to get out of the box more often. God wants to link us to amazing men and women of God, for we indeed never know whom He wants to use in our lives at what point.

I am so grateful for this time in my life, when the Lord has used all channels to minister to me. There will be those days when you cannot pray, when you cannot readily pray with your pastor, yet there is immense pressure upon your spirit to pray with someone more anointed than yourself.

That is where technology and these social networks come in. I have found myself lately finding deliverance from vices and oppression using a recorded sermon by Bishop T.D Jakes on the Internet.

Then there have been those daily devotionals that come from Joyce Meyer’s and Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke’s ministries. The world – and yes, the church – has become a global village with the technology.

I respect men and women of God internationally a lot and I have been blessed by literature from the ministries of Bishop David Oyedepo and Dr Daniel Olukoya from Nigeria, for example.

Olukoya in particular, helped me change my approach to spiritual warfare. So you can imagine my delight when I googled his sermons, and viola! An entire list was available for free online.

It is one thing reading and learning from Olukoya’s prayer points and something else altogether joining in an actual church service in Lagos and hearing the anointed man of God himself spit out the prayer points with fire from his pulpit. I have been so blessed.

We need to get out of the box more often. God wants to link us to amazing men and women of God, for we indeed never know whom He wants to use in our lives at what point.

Of course the Internet comes with its own perils. One needs a lot of wisdom and guidance from God, because indeed the cyber space is packed with false teachers and prophets and other anti-Christ elements taking advantage of the mass media.

But like careful shoppers in a market, we can go in and choose what we want and reject what is not of God. Besides, some of the testimonies God does for us are anxiously awaited in far-off lands where we don’t hope to go by plane anytime soon. Share using any avenue God makes available to you.
