There was no progress recorded at the peace meeting  between President Goodluck Jonathan and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors as meeting was deadlocked in the early hours of Monday.

According to the information given to journalists, Governor Aliyu Wamakko of Sokoto State said he attended the meeting alongside his Kano counterpart, Rabiu Kwakwanso to formally inform the President of their defection to the All Progressive Congress (APC).

Governor Godswill Akpabio, however, said no such issue was discussed at the meeting.

The Punch reports that Akpabio, who is the chairman of the PDP Governors Forum, however said Wamakko was at liberty to leave the party as thousands of the party members in Sokoto State will remain in the party.

  1. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is on the fast lane to extinction, no thanks to high handedness. We shall see how GEJ will win the 2015 re-election. He has attracted general resentment by the Nigerian masses in generally poor administartion of the country occasioned by massive corruption
