PDP won’t escape defeat in 2015 – Bisi Akande talks tough, as usual

by Akan Ido

The Action Congress of Nigeria has complained about the hurdles necessary for opposition parties to overcome in forming a merger.

This was disclosed by the ACN National Chairman, Bisi Akande, who described the guidelines as “cumbersome”.

Akande said this in London while giving a progress report of the talks between his party and the Congress of Progressive Change (CPC) on forming a united front to challenge the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2015.

The ACN leader reportedly said, “The ACN is very strong in the South-West, but most of its leaders in the zone are not (politically) ambitious. I can’t talk for other parties, but ambition will not be in our way this time around.

“We don’t want the opportunity to eject the PDP slip away. We don’t mind which party picks the presidency, but we want to take it from the PDP.

“We want a merger, but if that is not possible, we will form an alliance to field single candidates for the elections in the interest of the people,” he assured.

The political battle-line has been drawn it seems.

  1. Well, I think the opposition is a toothless bull dog that barks but cannot bite. All the so called alliance will obviously ammount to nothing going by the array of present realities. I'm not a PDP apologist but what this country is nothing but divinne intervention for God to raise a true leader who will fear no one to deal with corruption in the land. GOD BLESS NIGERIA.
