Jim Ovia empowers youth with ICT – See Photos from last week’s event

The five days Information Communication Technology (ICT) program supported by Jim Ovia Foundation ended on  3 February, 2012.

Jim Ovia created the platform for Nigerian youths to educate them in ICT and to create worthy solutions using applications to solve problems and pushing it to the next level and setting global network. The training featured; hardware, mobile applications, Java, QT, CSS3, HTMLs

As the event concluded, Ovia promised that N5 million each will be given to 10 students with brilliant ideas to develop it to reality by building new softwares, applications and a two gig memory laptop will be given to each of them.

  1. I wholeheartedly love The Youth Empowerment and ICT Foundation by Jim Ovia. It is a foundation that is purposely designed to expose Nigerian’s youths on ICT, because IT to say is extremely important that the youths must have basic knowledge of it. For instance, a graduate who does not have knowledge of computer may be denied of getting a job in the organisation which he/she has written to. Hence, I beseech all youths to therefore strive in having basic knowledge of IT (Information Technology). Thank you.

  2. Nigeria have the knowledge, but we need software development kit, we are good in terms of ict stuff, but lack of encouragement.

  3. I applaud this ICT programme by Jim Ovia, I wish I knew earlier so I could be a part of it, this are the kind of things am interested in. Anyway, I wish to be informed on subsequent programmes coming up. I know one day Nigeria will be well known for great achievements in ICT all over the world.
