Sanusi overstepped the mark says Moghalu

Deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Kingsley Moghalu said the suspended governor of CBN, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi over-stepped his authority in his fight with the presidency over the unremitted oil funds by the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and his response to the query from the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (FRC) on the 2012 audited accounts of the central bank. Jonathan appoints Zainab Bulkachuwa as Court of Appeal President

President Goodluck Jonathan has submitted the name of Zainab Bulkachuwa to the Senate to be confirmed as the President of the Court of Appeal.

Bulkachuwa who is already a judge at the court must be confirmed by the senate before she can be sworn-in as the president. Read more….

Jonathan appoints new Group Executive Directors for NNPC

A new group of Executive Directors for the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has been appointed by President Goodluck Jonathan.

Fuel subsidy must go, Alison-Madueke says

About a week after she told federal lawmakers that the federal government had no plans to remove subsidy on petrol, the Minister of Petroleum, Diezani Alison-Madueke, said on Tuesday that payment of subsidy on petrol ‘cannot be sustained any longer.’

Kano Govt. deports beggars to their states

The Kano State Government has sent 33 beggars to their states of origin as part of efforts to enforce the law banning street begging in the state.
