It has come to our attention that a story is circulating online about the purported resignation of the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.

For the avoidance of doubt, this story is not true.

The Finance Minister is still in place and assures Nigerians that all will be done to ensure that macro-economic stability is maintained through tight fiscal and Monetary policies.

  1. @Benson. You need to understand that all these propaganda will take you nowhere. Madam Iweala is making sure that the Nigerian economy is stable and can withstand any shock. Kudos to her for that,

    1. Na lie nothing stable . pocketing all she could get and run back to USA after her tenure. Please go and read Oby Ezekwesilis interviews about Nigerias economy under President Jonathan. Yes he is from Niger Delta brain or not he must be there.Sorry nation

  2. Oonjo iweala is a failure. She should be sacked. She should not be given the luxury to resign. The economy under her watch is in shambles. She once admitted that the govt might not be able to pay salaries in no distant future! What else do we need to know that she is a failure.
