Two unfortunate robbers who were nabbed by a mob of angry youths have been burned to death in Benue.

The deceased were said to have invaded the Wuese market and robbed traders of their possessions.

Attempts made by police officers to stop the incident, which took place in the Konshisha Local Government Area of the state, were futile.

Leadership reports:

LEADERSHIP FRIDAY understands that the incident occurred at noon when the suspected criminals stormed the Wuese Market and dispossessed the traders of their belongings, including cash.

Yesterday, however, the robbers met their waterloo, when they were caught by the youths who pursued them after they attempted to make their escape.

The young men refused listening to the pleas of the men of the Nigeria Police Force in the area and that of the Ter Kyor, Chief Jam Gbinde, and went ahead to pour fuel on the two robbers, setting them ablaze and watching, until they burnt to ashes.
