Tragic: Police stop father from saving his 8-month-old baby from a burning building

The father of an eight-month-old baby who died tragically in a house fire was Tased by police after he tried to run into the burning building several times to save his son.

The fire broke out around 2.30am on Sunday at a house in San Antonio, Texas.

Investigators said the parents of the eight-month-old boy had dropped him and their other son off at their grandparents’ house.

Shortly after this a fire started at the home. The grandparents grabbed one boy and ran out of the burning building. They then realized the baby was still trapped inside.

Emergency crews and the parents arrived at the same time, according to KENS5.

When the father tried to run into the building police held him back but eventually had to Tase him.

San Antonio Police Department said it was for his own safety.

Police said the stories regarding how the fire started don’t add up and arson is being investigated.

No criminal charges have been filed.
