A woman was arrested after police found her son locked in a bathroom while she was busy at an alcohol fueled party.

Kimberly Kieman, 39, of Florida, has been jailed after she threw a party for 26 teenagers, and she allegedly locked her 7-year-old son in the bathroom.

Police officers were dispatched to the Palm Beach Shores apartment complex after receiving a complaint about a group of teenagers in the complex, who were fighting. Neighbors also told police that Kiernan had a young son and they were concerned for the welfare of the child.

When officers arrived, the teens all ran into the apartment where the party was being held. When officers knocked on the apartment door, partygoers shouted obscenities and told the officers to leave. About 20 minutes later, after repeated orders to open the door, an intoxicated Kieman opened the door.

Officers alleged that Kiernan was so intoxicated that she “could not stand without leaning against the door.” Officials asked permission to enter the apartment to check on the welfare of her son. Kieman denied the request and hid behind partygoers, who slammed the door in the face of the officers.

Police officers eventually broke down the door and arrested all 26 teenagers who attended the party. Officers then looked for the 7-year-old boy. They found him locked in a bathroom in the apartment, while Kiernan was found hiding under a pile of dirty clothes.

A 16-year-old girl was found in a hallway choking on her own vomit. She was taken to St. Mary Medical Center.
Officers also found two 55-gallon trash cans filled with ice and various beverages on the front porch.
Kiernan was booked into jail on charges of child neglect.
