Hian!: Abia monarch says Boko Haram is responsible for massive flooding in the North

by Stanley Azuakola

The rainy season isn’t even fully here, but already severe flooding is ravaging several cities in the country, especially in the North. Scientists say it is global warming; city planners say it is the poor drainage systems in our cities; and now you can add a third view: the massive flooding tormenting the North is happening because God is angry with the activities of the Islamic sect, Boko Haram for their attacks on innocent Nigerians, especially Christians.

This was the view of a traditional ruler, Eze Henry Ezekwem of Emede Ibeku in Umuahia North Local Government Council. He further predicted that the flooding will continue because there’s no way Boko Haram members can go to churches to kill Christians and go to mosques to kill people who worship their God, and not get a backlash.

Eze Ezekwem is the chairman of Ibeku Traditional Rulers Council. He said the solution is for Boko Haram members to stop the gruesome killing of innocent worshippers in churches and mosques, otherwise the wrath of God would still come in more devastating ways.

He called on prominent Northern leaders to intervene in the matter by calling “these hoodlums to embrace dialogue so as to escape the enraging wrath of God,” warning that if they don’t change more aggressive harm awaits them.
