Budget 2014 Jam: Youth to engage Okonjo-Iweala in March

The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala will be hosting a 3-day online interactive session with youth aged 18 – 40 on the 2014 Budget from March 4 – 6, 214.

This event tagged the ‘Budget 2014 jam’ is an online event that will bring together thousands of people from across the country to discuss the budget in real time from wherever they are located. This will give young people the opportunity to share their thoughts and ideas with the Minister on the 2014 budget and its impact on the nation moving forward.

The jam goes live on March 4 by 8am and runs continuously until March 6 and can be joined at any point in those three days for any duration. The proposed areas for discussion will be managing our debt, stimulating job creation, keeping the lights on, spending wisely, managing our budget and increasing revenue.

The event seeks to engage over 20,000 people between the ages of 18 and 40 and is open to registration from now until 20,000 have registered to participate. This online discussion can be accessed using a laptop or tablet device only as it is not optimal on a smart phone.
