The long awaited report of the Special Task Force on the petroleum sector was submitted today amidst controversy. Some members of the committee made it clear that they were not in support of the report calling for the president to reject its in its entirety.

While receiving the report, President Goodluck Jonathan, said that anyone indicted in the committee report will be handed over to the Economic and Financual Crimes Commission (EFCC) for prosecution.

At the presentation of the report, the committee chairman, Nuhu Ribadu spoke against “traders in the sale of oil, oil theft and corruption.”

The report was, however, opposed by a member of the task force and former head of service, Steve Oransanye, who called on the president to reject the report describing it as flawed.

The report was earlier in the week leaked to the media with several recommendations contained in it already known to the public.

Other members of the Ribadu led Petroleum Revenue Task Force that joined the controversy were Benard Oti and Ismaila Zubeiru.

The president accepted the report promising to look critically into its recommendations not minding the controversy among its members.

The President told them not to quarrel about it, adding that “no one found guilty will be spared.”

Jonathan promised that he will do all in his powers to ensure that the submitted reports are fully implemented.
