“I don’t know what they are talking about” – May D reacts to Square Records statement

by Isi Esene

It is no longer news that the business relationship between Psquare and the first signing on its Square Records label, May D, has collapsed; what is news is that May D, who is at the heart of the matter, has denied knowledge of the said split.

May D, also known as Akinmayokun Awodumila, is an upcoming artiste who has released few hit tracks under the label including ‘Ile Ijo’, ‘Soundtrack’, and the remix he did with Akon and P-Square.

The budding artiste has denied knowledge of the record label’s decision, in a statement to blogger Linda Ikeji, saying, “I don’t know what they are talking about…you know I don’t stay in their house so how am I meant to know this?”

Jude Okoye had earlier released a statement announcing the split with the young artiste attributing it to irreconcilable differences.

The statement read: “Square Records Limited and Northside Entertainment Limited hereby announces to the general public that Mr. Akinmayokun Awodumila, otherwise known as MAY D is no longer an artiste under the aforementioned outfits due to irreconcilable differences. We at Northside and Square records wish him all the best in his career and life.”

This is going to get more interesting.
