#InCaseYouMissedIt: Lawan allowed to travel for lesser Hajj

by Isi Esene

Honourable Farouk Lawan had a hard time travelling out of the country this morning as men of the State Security Service (SSS) initially denied him from travelling to Saudi Arabia to perform the lesser Hajj.

He was said to have been denied because the security operatives believe he was trying to escape from being tried for the $620,000 fuel subsidy regime bribery scandal involving him and the chairman of Zenon Oil, Femi Otedola.

Sources say he was later allowed to travel after the intervention of certain highly placed officials in the presidency who assured the SSS that he was only going to Saudi Arabia to observe the lesser Hajj as he claimed.

He was later allowed to fly the much delayed Emirate Airlines flight around 4am this morning en-route Saudi Arabia.

May his prayers be answered.
