Jealous rage: Woman arrested for stabbing, pouring urine on husband’s mistress in Ogun

A woman in Ogun has been arrested and taken to court after she was accused of assaulting her husband’s alleged mistress.

28-year-old Temitope Ajayi is said to have stabbed and poured urine on one Ganiyat Yusuf whom she believed was having an affair with her husband.

She was said to have taken offence to the fact that Yusuf was cooking for her husband and this led to the assault on the latter.

Ajayi was on Thursday arraigned at a Magistrate’s Court sitting in Isabo, Abeokuta, for allegedly stabbing and pouring urine on her husband’s mistress.

The accused was reported to have stabbed Ganiyat on the head for cooking for her husband while she was away.

The prosecutor, Banji Sangotokun, told the court that Temitope stabbed and poured urine on the victim.

Ganiyat is presently recuperating in an unnamed hospital.

Sangotokun said the accused committed the offence on June 24,2014 at about 2pm at Adigbe, Abeokuta.

He stated further that the accused and the victim were neighbours before Temitope temporarily packed to her husband’s family house to take care of the father-in-law who was sick.

The wife later found out that the victim was cooking for her husband.

The prosecutor said, ”The offence committed is contrary to and punishable under Section 335 of the Criminal Code Law of Ogun State, Nigeria,2006.”

The accused pleaded not guilty to one count of stabbing levelled against her.

The presiding magistrate, Anthony Araba, admitted her to bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum.
