Snoop Lion has really come a long way in his career as a rapper and entertainer, he has moved from rocking the clubs to high society parties with the United States Secretary of State, John Kerry.

Not minding the fact that the hip hop star has become something of an icon for supporters of recreational marijuana use, Kerry raised a friendly fist toward Snoop Lion (formerly Snoop Dogg) during a moment of cameraderie at a White House reception.

The rapper quickly responded by sticking out his own fist, and then celebrated the collision of two worlds with a victory dance.

He posted a video of the unprecedented bump on his Instagram, and captioned it: “Boss life. me n john kerry at d white house !!! #reincarnated #khc.”

Kerry’s Twitter team retweeted Snoop’s post, adding a special note apparently straight from the Secretary himself, “Between us we’ve sold 30 million—JK.”

Snoop Lion was reportedly in the crib to honor jazz musician Herbie Hancock, one of the 2013 Kennedy Center Honorees.

According to Mediaite, Snoop performed “Cantaloop (Flip Fantasia),” which was inspired by Hancock’s “Cantaloupe Island.”

The Obama Administration hosted the black-tie soiree on Dec. 8, E! Online reported. It will air on CBS Dec. 29 at 9 p.m. It’s unclear what the unlikely pair were talking about before the epic bump.

Kerry can be heard saying, “He invented your whole thing,” apparently referring to Herbie Hancock’s legacy.

“He invented hip-hop,” Snoop agrees before standing by for Kerry’s bump.

Kerry moves off screen and a bystander can be heard saying, “Oh, he gave you a good pound.”

The hashtag #IfSnoopWasSecretaryOfState started trending soon afterwards.
