On Sat 5th Jan 2013 London stood up for a one of its kind annual Jazz concert. This year saw the 4th annual Go Jazz Concert (a Neo-Soul, Jazz, and Spoken Word event), presented by OPAMan Entertainment Co (part of Oloja.com) The Concert took place at the iconic Jazz Café Camden in London, characteristically known as a venue to hear modern legends.

Previously, this event was scheduled to take place in Sept 2012 but due to unforeseen circumstances, it was shifted to Jan 2013. I can assure you that all who attended can confirm it was well worth the wait.

Go Jazz exists to inspire and excite all who attend; it’s an evening of music, poetry and unique fun!!

On the night the doors opened at 7pm unveiling a long queue of patient attendees.

Oladapo Opayinka (Ceo OPAMan Ent Co and Oloja.com); mounted the stage to welcome guests and gave an overview of the nights schedule.

He apologised to all that had to use their valid tickets from the postponed Sept event. He also apologised for Four Kornerz pulling out a week to the event with no prior notice.

Without further ado the show began.

The house band Musiqmind lit up the stage and the following rundown took over:

Mahameek (Poet) (Teju Ojerinola)

Jay Alexandar

Dena Latoya

Romarinho (Del Onifade)

Floetic Lara (POET)

Arik air proud sponsors of Go Jazz presented the winner of the raffle draw “Neel” with a free round trip air ticket to Nigeria.

For the Grand finale YolanDa Brown (MOBO Award Saxophonist dubbed “voice” of mainstream Jazz in the UK) performed outstanding tributes to icons Bob Marley and Fela Anikulapo Kuti.

She invited ladies from the audience to come and demonstrate the Azonto dance style with her. Finally they were joined on stage by Oladapo Opayinka, Mr Oloja himself who showed them all how it should really be done.

The best news, however, is that Go Jazz is back @ Jazz Café sooner than expected with a line-up of mega entertaining acts.
