“Sacking me won’t change anything” – Sanusi fires back at critics (WATCH)

The bickering generated over the comments attributed to the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN)

“The CBN governor is not in a popularity contest, my job is to give a frank and honest opinion as to where I think the economy will go… sacking me won’t change anything,” he said.

He buttressed is point saying, “There is one state governor I know who has over 400 special assistants… Do we really need 42 ministers in Nigeria? These are questions that we need to ask. We are modeled after the American system [of governance] and that kind of government is structured to be expensive.”

Many analysts, including the Nigeria Labour Congress and the House of Representatives, have cautioned Sanusi to watch his utterances and avoid heating up the polity.

  1. The man should retire now because all his ideas are not working but bringing cash squeeze and pains to people. He is far removed from the reality of what is really happening
