So, normally, the people should be expectant when their president wants to address them – as is the case for President Goodluck Jonathan, who will address the nation on Tuesday morning, just nine days after his Independence address, the subject of much controversy.
Unfortunately, each of his “addresses” have failed to end up well. The June 12 announcement of the University of Lagos’s name change is still a matter for litigation, the October 1 address contained a blatant lie, and even when the president sat down to speak – his most memorable line was the ill-tempered “I don’t give a damn!”
What gems will be ours tomorrow morning? Well, see if you can guess from these tweets.
