The city of Maiduguri has experienced yet another bomb blast which has claimed the lives of 17 persons as the explosion ripped through a busy market on Tuesday, January 14.

According to Vanguard, the state police chief, Lawan Tanko, speaking to newsmen, confirmed the death of 17 people and at least 5 people with injuries.

He said, “From our preliminary reports, we have 17 dead and at least five injured from the blast in the post office area” of the city, adding the the death toll could rise.
